WELCOME ( BACK )

I would like to start by thanking everyone who stuck around through the unplanned hiatus and cancelation of Novel 2023. I gave myself a deadline to return to the Music Theme, but failed to meet it and have since lost a lot of the art I've made for it. MEANING; there is a new theme! You can read more about it below.Whether you're a new or returning face, everyone's welcome to join.

…2024 THEME… As the word UNASCERTAINED and tumblr post already spoils, it's all about SPACE & THE UNEXPLORED GALAXY. How you go about it is up to you, all it needs is space and Zuko and Sokka's relationship ( platonic, romantic, antagonistic, etc ). They don't have to be in space directly, it doesn't have to be based on real life research & events, it doesn't have to be complex. It definitely CAN be an AU based on a movie, book or show that already exists.…GROUPS… Authors can work alone ( e.g an artist drops out late, the writing can still stand on its own ), but artists unfortunately can't as this novel is based on the writing aspect. HOWEVER you're allowed to write and draw by yourself OR partner up with a friend prior to any art-claims if preferred!…PROCESS… According to the schedule ( as much as we can manage ). I'm generally transparent about the behind the scenes process and like asking for opinions and ideas, and offer customization options if you wanna try something new!

…CREATOR COMPENSATION… Short answer; There is none.
The Novel is still an entirely free PDF for everyone to download. Any programs needed for the making of this novel and any possible merch is funded by myself. It's just a hobby project and shouldn't be understood as more than that! We're all investing our free time, please be aware of this before comitting to any deadlines. It's okay not to have time to spare!…ART MEDIUM… Really any and all are welcome as long as it suits the given formatting and has a fairly high resolution! 300DPI is not required, but recommended for the best quality.
For traditional and mobile artists; If you don't have a way of removing the background of your drawing I'm more than willing to help!➤ ARTISTS: Should send their file as a PNG in RGB through dropbox or google drive link.
➤ AUTHORS: Should send their work as a PDF file.

RULES

…➤… Stories with heavier topics and horror themes are allowed, but nothing too explicit. Implications are okay, detailed depictions are not. I must ask everyone wanting to join to be OF AGE in complete disregard to any story ratings.…➤… That said; Please keep all talk of such heavy / suggestive topics in-and out of context of the novel in the respective channel to avoid accidental triggers!…➤… Basic etiquette applies, any hate speech will be met with a ban and you're not welcome to return.…➤… Keep any personal problems you have with another creator out of this project. But you can always come talk to me if you wish to not interact with someone specifically.…➤… Equally keep strong opinions about other ships, characters or shows in private conversations.…➤… You're not forced to chat with anyone outside of your group, but please do keep your group updated!

REQUIREMENT

…➤… An e-mail address and a discord account that's been registered for longer than 5 minutes.…➤… Basic knowledge of how to use google doc/drive & whichever artform you practice. You don't need to match anyone's skill level to be part of this.…➤… Artist must have at least one fully finished drawing, what you consider finished is up to you. Anything extra is optional!…➤… Writers must write at least 1.000 words and have a maximum of 4.000 words ( expansion possible depending on the participant numbers).…➤… A bit of a mix between rule and requirement; While not making deadlines isn't met with harsh consequences and I try to make things work out in the case you have some personal emergencies or issues, I do ask everyone to take deadlines serious! It's best to leave notifications to Only Mentions, I don't tag everyone if isn't something important you need to see!

• 1: houston, we have a problem

…WARNINGS ➤… Mentions of Injury, Hurt / Comfort, Assumed Character Death…SUMMARY ➤… 24 year old Zuko works in the Mission Control room at NASA, one of the youngest to have the clearance and access he does. He’s worked first hand with astronauts of all ages & experience. Nothing could have ever prepared him for working with (and falling for) Sokka.

• 2: A WORLD beyond

…WARNINGS ➤… Mentions of Death, Mentions of Injury, Hurt / Comfort, Mentions of Depression…SUMMARY ➤… AU based on the show Final Space (S1 EP1-3) with Sokka as a prisoner serving out a 5-year sentence in a space ship and Zuko as a bounty hunter who makes his way onto Sokka's ship.

• 3: The Outpost

…WARNINGS ➤… No Warnings…SUMMARY ➤… Sokka and Zuko both work on separate spaceships. They each get sent down to an unmanned outpost on the same planet to restock fuel for their ships. Shortly after arrival, a week-long storm keeps them from being able to travel back to their ships. While sheltering on the planet, the two learn about eachother and begin to form a relationship

• 4: do you copy?

…WARNINGS ➤… Mentions of Death, Mentions of Injury, Hurt / Comfort, Blood…SUMMARY ➤… After a series of events that shall remain in the public domain, Zuko and Sokka are stranded on a ship. Things keep breaking and they’re barely able to keep their heads above water (or out of the vacuum) so they have to work together to fix the communicator and send a message out before it’s too late.

• 5: Global warming

…WARNINGS ➤… Mentions of Death…SUMMARY ➤… Doctor Who-esque/time travel au (no knowledge of doctor who required to understand). Aang is a time traveler who takes Zuko and Sokka ~4.5 billion years into the future, where they watch the sun expand and the flames engulf the earth through an observation window of a space station.

• 6: Out of orbit

…WARNINGS ➤… Mentions of Injury, Mentions of Mental Health…SUMMARY ➤… Sokka is chosen for Earth’s longest and riskiest space mission yet. For two years, he'll be living on one of Jupiter's distant moons and recording everything about himself and his surroundings to see whether long-term existence in deep space is truly plausible. He's the first person in history to set foot on this robot-built base.So why are there footprints in the ice?
